Technology Award at the 25th annual Caribbean American Heritage Awards Gala next month. The institute will recognize his career as a research scientist and his leadership in infrared engineering and hyperspectral imaging. Also in November Dr. Cropper will be one of 16 individuals and three teams inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame at Howard University in Washington, D.C., where he excelled as a member of the swim team from 1981 to 1984. Howard sponsors 19 NCAA Division 1 varsity sports for men and women.
In an unrelated distinction, Dr. Cropper was honored with an Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. A small number of recipients are chosen from the 1.5 million distinguished people whose biographies are published by Marquis Who’s Who on the basis of career longevity, philanthropy, and enduring
contributions to society. Dr. Cropper was among the select few of those award winners chosen to represent Marquis in The Wall Street Journal. A former member of the AISES Board of Directors and chair of the API Board, Dr. Cropper is an engineer- ing fellow at Raytheon.
