AISES awarded Dr. Mary Jo Ondrechen (Mohawk Nation) the Technical Excellence Award, which recognizes an individual who has made a significant contribution to science, engineering, or technology by having designed, developed, managed, or assisted in the development of a product, service, system, or intellectual property.
Dr. Mary Jo Ondrechen, a distinguished theoretical chemist and computational biologist, is a tenured professor in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Northeastern University. She received her PhD in chemistry from Northwestern University and a bachelor’s in chemistry from Reed College. Her research spans several critical areas at the intersection of chemistry, biology, and computational science.
