From Navajo Nation to the Mayo Clinic — meet Sky Harper.
The first born of six Diné sons, Sky rose from small-town science fairs to a full scholarship at Drexel University, a biomedical research fellowship at Mayo Clinic, and now a PhD path in molecular pharmacology. His mission: bring medicinal chemistry and healthcare solutions back to his Navajo community.
As AISES Senior National Student Representative, Sky has led Indigenous STEM initiatives, mentored young researchers, and inspired Native students across the country. He’s won competitive fellowships, completed multiple research internships, and competed three times at the International Science and Engineering Fair.
