Angela Teeple (Bay Mills Indian Community), recipient of the Most Promising Engineer or Scientist Award, is a nuclear engineer at the U.S. Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, where she conducts critical modeling and analysis to assess system risks and support mission planning. Inspired early by STEM programs and driven to excel in male-dominated spaces, she earned degrees in mechanical and nuclear engineering and a master’s in Indigenous law and policy. Teeple combines technical expertise with advocacy, addressing water quality issues in Native communities and helping secure solutions. Committed to mentorship, she teaches coding to Native students, fostering early STEM engagement and empowering future Indigenous leaders.
