AISES Board Nominations and Election

Nominate a passionate leader bringing extensive and diverse industry expertise to accelerate our strategies and advocate for increased diversity in STEM.

Help Shape the Future of AISES

If you’re passionate about advancing Indigenous people in STEM and want to help guide the future of AISES, we encourage you to apply or nominate a fellow AISES professional member.

In accordance with AISES Bylaws, at least one more candidate than the number of open seats must be nominated. For this election cycle, AISES is seeking a minimum of four (4) nominees for three (3) open Board seats.

Who Can Apply?

All AISES Professional Members in good standing are eligible to:

  • Self-nominate for a Board seat
  • Nominate another AISES Professional Member

AISES values a Board that reflects diverse perspectives, experiences, backgrounds, and skills. We encourage nominations from members eager to contribute their leadership and expertise.

Of note, AISES Bylaws allow for up to (2) Associate Member positions on the Board. Based on the current Board composition, one (1) of the three (3) available seats may be filled by an Associate Member.

Board Member Responsibilities

Serving on the AISES Board of Directors includes:

  • Providing legal, fiduciary, and ethical oversight of the organization
  • Attending at least four Board meetings annually (up to two may be held in person)
  • Serving a three-year term
  • Contributing leadership, expertise, and strategic guidance to support Indigenous students and professionals in STEM

Please note: Board members are responsible for their own travel expenses related to Board meetings and the AISES National Conference.
