Lexi, a proud member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, is an accomplished environmental scientist and a dedicated advocate for Indigenous self-governance. With a Master’s in Environmental Science from Oklahoma State University and extensive experience as both Environmental Coordinator, and Self-Governance and Grants Coordinator at the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, she excels in grant management, compliance, and leading impactful tribal programs.

Lexi’s expertise lies in crafting precise grant proposals, ensuring compliance, and effectively managing grants throughout their lifecycle. Notably, she has participated in the Potawatomi Leadership Program, a Harvard Honoring Nations’ award-winning internship program, championed STEM education as former Secretary of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation’s AISES chapter - ‘Shkodedeajek’ and contributed to ‘Conservation Camp’ and others promoting STEM fields among Indigenous youth.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Lexi actively contributes to community development through programs like the Citizen Potawatomi Nation’s ‘Noek Kmeshomesek’ leadership group and the American Indian Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Native Oklahoma. Her dedication to Indigenous outreach and advancement of tribal programs and policies across Indian Country has earned recognition, notably as a recipient of Oklahoma’s NextGen Under 30.

With an unwavering commitment to tribal self-governance and a passion for empowering Indigenous representation, Lexi brings extensive experience to her role as Grants Compliance Officer at AISES. Her dedication ensures the organization’s programs thrive, aligning with its mission to foster Indigenous representation in STEM.
In her free time, Lexi enjoys gardening, thrifting, reading, and exploring Native Oklahoma and beyond with her husband and dynamic duo, Pete the cat and Milo the dog.
