Carmen Wong

Carmen Wong joins AISES as a Communications Assistant who will help to expand the recognition and influence of AISES in Canada. 

Carmen graduated from the University of British Columbia (UBC) with a Bachelor of Science in Global Resource Systems. Since graduating in 2020, she is working towards becoming a certified heavy duty equipment technician due to her keen interest in structural and mechanical systems.

As an undergraduate student, Carmen helped to re-establish the AISES student chapter at UBC. In 2018, she joined as an AISES member after attending the inaugural AISES in Canada National Gathering in Calgary, Alberta. She has since attended AISES National Conferences in Montréal, Québec, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Carmen is Secwépemc from High Bar First Nation in Central British Columbia (BC) and she grew up in Burnaby, British Columbia on the traditional, ancestral, unceded territory of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh speaking peoples.
