Tribal Chapters

AISES Tribal Chapters

The Tribal Chapters of AISES provide members with opportunities and support within their community. AISES tribal members support the AISES mission by being mentors and mentees, giving back and strengthening their community and AISES. In their local communities, AISES tribal chapter members provide a variety of activities on a local level that support STEM success in the following ways:

  • Providing role models for Indigenous students and professionals
  • Organizing seminars and workshops that help develop professional, academic and cultural skills
  • Giving access to networking resources such as community relations, scholarships, and job-opportunity awareness
  • Serving as AISES-endorsed “Subject Matter Experts,” speaking in educational and media platforms and raising public awareness about AI/AN contributions in STEM
  • Supporting educational partnerships with our affiliate schools
  • Encouraging participation in other educational and professional opportunities

Maintaining a Tribal Chapter

Tribal Chapter Annual Reports are due January 20th of every year, unless stated otherwise.

It is imperative that complete annual reports be submitted to the AISES National Office on time. Late or incomplete reports could lead to the loss of a Tribal Chapter’s charter.  A Chapter will be considered on probation after missing one annual report deadline. A Chapter that misses two consecutive annual report deadlines is at risk of losing their charter.
