Dr. Kenneth L. Bowen

Dr. Kenneth L. Bowen is an educator, growth strategist, consultant, and leader who uses his passions to inspire others to achieve growth. His passion for education and helping others grow professionally is at the heart of his success. His international consulting experience, serving as a district-level leader, and a leader for a Fortune 500 corporation, has given him extensive knowledge of public education and the corporate world. His background in grant development and design, such as the Marine Science Academy startup and the STEM grant, demonstrates his ability to secure funding and launch new programs. Dr. Bowen’s success in law, finance, operations, and government rounds out his wealth of experience leading and advising organizations.

Dr. Bowen’s accomplishments include serving as an assistant superintendent, principal, administrator, curriculum specialist, and teacher. He was a member of the South Carolina Department of Education International Teacher Advisory Board, the North Carolina District 5 Safer Schools Task Force, and the Public School Forum of NC study group. He was also appointed to serve on the 2016 United States Department of Education’s Rule Negotiating Committee for the Every Student Succeeds Act.

Dr. Bowen graduated with honors from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke with a BA Degree in History with a concentration in Secondary Social Studies Education. He earned a Master of School Administration Degree from UNCP and was named the Young Alumnus of the Year. He earned a Doctorate of Educational Leadership Degree from East Carolina University, where his dissertation focused on growth for at-risk students affiliated with street gangs. He was named to East Carolina University’s 40 under 40. Moreover, he has also earned certificates in Advanced Placement United States History from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Online Learning from Duke University, and Mental Health in the Workplace from Walden University.

Dr. Bowen is an inspiration to many. He is a dedicated educator, a passionate advocate for growth, and a visionary leader. His accomplishments and contributions are numerous, and he continues to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
