Building STEM communities for Tribes

Joining or starting an AISES Tribal Chapter is an incredible way to contribute to our mission while fostering a sense of community and empowerment. Tribal Chapters do not require members to be enrolled in college/university, nor do they need to be a professional. Tribal Chapters welcome all levels of members, including PK-12 students, college/university students, professionals, and retirees. Our tribal chapters focus on community, mentorship, workshops, and integrating STEM with cultural perspectives, creating enriching experiences for all.

Local science fairs, STEM days, volunteer work; these are just a few ways a Tribal Chapter can engage and serve their community! Get involved with or start an AISES Tribal Chapter today!

Start A Chapter

Complete and submit the following application documents:

AISES Tribal Chapter Application
Verification of at least 1 current AISES member
Copy of meeting minutes reflecting:
- Election of Officers
- Adoption of Code of Conduct and Safe Camp Policy
- Adoption of Affiliation Agreement and Tribal Bylaws Tribal Chapter Bylaws

Submit application and supporting documents to chapters@aises.org or mail to:

The chapter’s charter will go to the AISES Board of Directors for review and approval.

Maintain Your Chapter

Complete and Submit an Annual Chapter Report by January 20, providing the following:

Completed Tribal Chapter Annual Report
Completed Chapter Affiliation Agreement
Bank statements and meeting minutes covering the period of January through December

A Chapter will be considered on probation after missing one annual report deadline. A Chapter that misses two consecutive annual report deadlines is at risk of losing their charter.
