AISES Scholarship Reviewer Application

Thank you for your interest in serving as a scholarship reviewer. AISES scholarships play a critical role in providing financial support for our undergraduate and graduate students. As a result, AISES relies on a supportive network of volunteer scholarship reviewers to execute a high-integrity and fair process. All scholarship reviews will be done electronically within our OASIS Scholarship System.

Please complete all required sections and review the guidelines below.

  • Reviewers must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree or three years of experience as a STEM professional.
  • Reviewers must be AISES members, STEM professionals, or affiliated with an AISES partnership organization (foundation, corporate donor, or federal partner agency) in a non-HR, non-recruitment role. Individuals whose primary role is talent acquisition, corporate hiring, or HR-related recruitment are not eligible to serve as scholarship reviewers.
  • Reviewers do NOT have to be Native American or Alaskan Native to serve as a reviewer; they do need to be committed to the AISES mission.
  • Reviewers must sign a confidentiality agreement to keep all information confidential to protect students’ privacy.
  • Reviewers must inform AISES of any potential conflicts of interest/bias if an applicant in their portfolio is a personal acquaintance or family member.
  • If a reviewer has a child who has submitted an AISES Scholarship, they will not be allowed to serve as a reviewer.
  • Reviewers agree that if they cannot complete their review assignments, they will inform AISES immediately as the process is time sensitive.
  • Reviewers will be expected to read between 25-30 applications over a 4-week review period. Each application will take approximately 30 minutes (on average, some more, some less) to read and score. The commitment, therefore, will be about 15-25 hours total.
