Hey there! My name is Sterling Fox Cerda. I am Luiseño from Mission San Luis Rey. I was born and raised in North County, San Diego, California. I major in Mechatronics at Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga, California. I had a rough beginning adapting to college life and I am making slow but steady progress to my future career with the help of AISES.
I joined the AISES family while I was attending Cal Poly Pomona as an Agricultural Science major in 2021, and have stuck around to help out my new community ever since. I have been able to aid with the Regional and National conferences and will continue to help wherever I can.
I love to connect with people, and people to resources. I have been able to help at local powwows and community gatherings like The Ohlone Big Time at Tony Cerda Park, Mission San Luis Rey’s Father’s Day Powwow, Yuhaaviatam Nation of San Manuel’s SoCal Powwow and many other fun events in my local area. I was featured in the PBS Documentary “Native America” and I was on the cover of AISES Winds of Change Magazine.
AISES has given me so many opportunities and I wish to share them with as many people as possible so we can all grow and thrive together as one big AISES family. I look forward to being your Region 2 rep again!
