Joshua Alan John is Navajo, originally from Shiprock, New Mexico on the Navajo Nation. He is born for the Folded Arms Clan, with paternal lineage from the White Mountain Apache, maternal grandfather from the Mexican Clan, and paternal grandfather from the Bear Enemies Clan.
With more than twenty years in the aerospace and defense industry, Joshua has built a distinguished career in systems testing, flight test execution, and strategic test planning. Joshua is currently employed as a Senior Principal Engineer at Northrop Grumman Defense Systems in Roy, Utah in Systems Test function.
Joshua holds a M.S. in Systems Engineering from Johns Hopkins University and a B.S. in Physics from Northern Arizona University. He is the 2018 AISES Most Promising Engineer Award recipient and an AISES Sequoyah Fellow since 2014.
Committed to advancing Native representation in STEM, Joshua serves on the AISES Board of Directors as vice chair. He co-chairs the governance committee, serves on the Finance and Artificial Intelligence committees and actively supports STEM outreach for Native students and professionals.
