Hope completed her undergraduate career at the University of Colorado Boulder in Ethnic Studies and Elementary Education. After graduation she taught in Longmont in the St. Vrain Valley School District – the seventh largest school district in the state. She advocates for more representation of Black, Indigenous, and people of color in all spaces; to share and affirm their diverse histories, knowledge, and legacies.
As a Chicana (Mexican/American/Indigenous), Hope’s diverse identities are the core of her passions and motivation. She was born and raised in Greeley, Colorado. Her family has been in southern Colorado, and northern New Mexico since before statehood. She comes from a family of bold and independent women, starting with her mom, who is her rock. Her two sisters are her best friends and biggest supporters. In her free time, she enjoys gathering with friends and family, going to community events, and playing with her puppy, Zorro.
