Cheri Lopez joined AISES in 2025 and serves as its Controller. Cheri holds an Executive Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from the University of North Florida, and an Associates of Arts degree in Accounting from the Community College of Jacksonville, Florida. Prior to joining AISES, Cheri held several positions in various non-profit organizations since 2001, including most recently, as Chief Finance Officer at the Women’s Economic Self-Sufficiency Team (WESST) and Assistant Executive Director at Supportive Housing Coalition of New Mexico in Albuquerque, and Director of the Denver Finance Center with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in Colorado. Cheri also owned her own pension consulting business for 9 years in Florida. Cheri is committed to supporting career opportunities in education, economic growth, housing and healthcare. She strives to provide a supportive work environment where staff can achieve their goals.

Cheri is from California and has been fortunate to live in several states. She currently lives in Edgewood, New Mexico with her spouse and two cats. Her children and grandchildren live in Nebraska and Washington State. Cheri loves puzzles, travel and visiting family.
