One conference can change it all!

The AISES National Conference is an experience like no other

AISES National Conference

It will touch your head and your heart. You’ll meet people from all over the country. You’ll experience local Indigenous culture. You will be able to try hands-on lessons involving STEM (science, technology, engineering and math). You will be inspired – feeling the spirit and power of a community of 3,000+ attendees.

You definitely will leave with something – new knowledge, new connections and relatives, new inspiration to learn, and maybe even a new job.

It’s also about being part of something, feeling connected and supported, and helping others, too. We call it the AISES Family – where everyone is welcome. Whether Indigenous or non-Indigenous, a science student or not, engineer or artist, everyone is welcome.

One conference can change it all!

Important Deadlines

WEave Innovation in Portland with AISES!

Find more than just cool arts and great coffee here! Journey with us to a place where innovation, Indigenous knowledge, and community meet in a way that feels deeply aligned with who we are.

Portland sits at the confluence of rivers, cultures, and ideas. It is a city shaped by brilliant STEM minds, a powerful Indigenous presence, and a landscape that has always supported innovation grounded in relationship, responsibility, and curiosity.

This is more than a conference.

It’s a space where Indigenous knowledge and STEM innovation come together with intention, in a city that mirrors the convergence, creativity, and resilience of our communities.

For some students, this may be the first time meeting STEM academics, STEM PhDs, seeing Indigenous Excellence, and drawing on how prestigious this community is!

Highlights for Students

We embrace Indigenous culture and affirm Indigenous identity. Students are encouraged to showcase their heritage!

There were so many workshops and connecting with others. I think my favorite event was the Pow Wow at the end. This represented our unity and our culture. I also got to meet so many hardworking people. I was inspired and my big take-away is to think about ways to give back to my community. As a travel scholar, I realize that many contributed to make this possible. I intend to keep working hard and hope to give back in the future.

Students build relationships with companies that support Indigenous STEM, possibly leading to internships and future job opportunities!

I have been to many conferences, and they are such moving, amazing events. I very much enjoyed hearing the stories of your keynote speakers and I especially loved the drum circle and singers. I don’t know the right words to explain how hearing them made me feel. I just felt them inside me. I attended my first Pow Wow at AISES too, the dancer and their regalia were beautiful and moving.
