In October 2025, the ISES Board of Directors and membership voted to remove the word “Indian” from the organization’s name to better reflect the diversity of Indigenous communities served. AISES now stands for:Advancing Indigenous Science and Engineering Society to align with this change, the acronym NAISEF now stands for: National Advancing Indigenous Science and Engineering Fair

Yes. NAISEF is a free public event. Families, siblings, educators, and community members are welcome to attend and explore the fair.

No. There is no registration fee for students participating in NAISEF.

Yes. Parents, siblings, and family members are welcome to attend. In addition to the science fair projects, there will be STEM activities, exhibitor booths, and community programming for visitors.

In-person judging occurs between 9 am and 12 pm on April 1st. Virtual judging will be on March 31st between 11 am and 3 pm.

Awards will be given out at the banquet. If students compete virtually they will have their awards mailed to them in mid-April.

Yes! If you take pictures or videos, please tag AISES in any posts. We love to see the event through your eyes.

No! There is no cost to register for NAISEF and additionally there is funding available to support students competing in the fair. If you would like to apply for funding you can do so here.

Lunch and dinner are provided at the event for NAISEF participants. For judges and volunteers, we will have light refreshments in the morning, and will serve lunch and dinner.

Water bottle refill stations will be available on every floor.
