Learn more about this course to engage Indigenous high school students in STEM and Computer Science (CS) for the 2025-2026 school year
As many states now require Computer Science (CS) integration, AISES is here to support your school! Through a partnership with Comcast NBCUniversal’s Project UP, we are expanding CS education and career readiness in schools serving Indigenous students!
This entry-level, two-semester course is ideal for schools with no prior STEM+CS experience and provides full educator support throughout the 2025-2026 school year (August 2025 – June 2026).
This program is currently full but you can still explore other options to get your students involved in CS!

We have multiple schools in our district, and our school was the only middle school AISES affiliate. A college group came up with an idea for “Techploration” and the district brought all of our 7th and 8th graders together. When they presented about coding and gave the students time to work in Scratch, our kids progressed much faster than the cohort from the other school.

I really appreciate the partnership with ComcastNBCUniversal/AISES and my school. Our school would not have had the resources to send our students to the National Conference or for all of the fun gadgets such as the Spheros, the Circuit Playgrounds, and the microbits – all of which lead to valuable hands-on learning. We also used those devices to have the high school students present to elementary students, whom were enthralled with the devices.

I would absolutely encourage other schools and teachers to participate in Indigenous Coders! It’s never too early or too late to give students access to technology and coding. For some of my students, coding has opened up a new avenue for them to express their creativity.
