The meeting will be led by the AISES Governance Committee on behalf of the AISES Board of Directors and will include:
- Approval of the 2025 Membership Meeting Minutes
- Proposed changes to the AISES Bylaws
- Opportunities for members to participate and vote on eligible matters

The annual membership meeting is open to all AISES members attending the 2026 National Conference, with a virtual option available for those unable to attend in person. Whether you’re interested in nonprofit governance, want to better understand how AISES operates, or simply want to have a voice in the organization you belong to, this is your opportunity to show up, stay informed, and help shape the future of AISES.
What’s changing in the AISES Bylaws?
The AISES Board of Directors is proposing changes in the following areas:
- Expanding General Membership to include practitioners of traditional and customary practices in Indigenous STEM fields.
- Clarifying Associate Member eligibility for the Board of Directors by specifying that Associate members may be appointed to the Board but cannot be elected.
- Clarifying member discipline procedures for matters involving potential criminal activity that could compromise the safety of others.
- Requiring background checks before an individual may serve on the AISES Board of Directors.
