AUNTIE is a multi-generational, culturally centered tech collective that equips Indigenous womxn and girls with the skills, support, and community needed to thrive in technology fields.
Our structure is designed to be cyclical and sustaining. Girls grow into mentors. Students become leaders. Professionals remain rooted in the community. Each person who joins, strengthens the current and carries others forward.
We envision a future where Indigenous womxn are not only present in tech but visible, supported, and leading.
AUNTIE Tech Club
Hands-on tech learning, including coding, robotics, and digital literacy, delivered through culturally grounded activities and exposure to Indigenous mentors in the industry.
Future AUNTIES
Community and empowerment through mentorship, networking, career readiness, and technical competency building for college students pursuing tech degrees.
THE AUNTIES
A growing network of Indigenous womxn in tech committed to leadership, peer mentorship, and creating inclusive workplaces, offering opportunities for both professional growth and giving back.
THE CHALLENGE
AUNTIE tackles the systemic underrepresentation of Indigenous womxn and girls in tech. Today, American Indian womxn earn less than 0.1% of computing degrees in the U.S., facing significant underrepresentation in the tech sector.
This disparity isn’t about lack of interest or ability; it’s rooted in deep-seated inequities: intergenerational trauma, rural isolation, underfunded schools, cultural gaps in education, and a lack of mentorship and community.
Indigenous womxn and girls encounter obstacles at every turn. More than half of Indigenous students lack access to essential math, science, and technical courses, hindered by remote locations and limited opportunities for tech exploration. Without Indigenous role models in tech, they may never discover potential careers or how to navigate them.
For those who break into tech, staying is as challenging as starting. Without cultural support and community, many womxn feel marginalized and ultimately leave the industry.
The outcome? Indigenous womxn miss out on one of the fastest-growing sectors, while tech loses out on the unique innovation, leadership, and perspectives Indigenous communities offer.

Indigenous peoples must define their own futures in tech and innovation.
Belonging is essential to persistence and success.
Indigenous knowledge systems are not adjacent to tech, but are foundational to it.
Native peoples have always been scientists, builders, and visionaries. AUNTIE carries this forward through emerging technologies.
