Professional Development Strategic Planning

Stem Cells, Cell Therapies, and Bioengineering in Lung Biology and Diseases
The University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine is pleased to present our biannual international workshop “Stem Cells, Cellular Therapies, and Bioengineering in Lung Biology and Diseases”, to be held Monday, July 24 through Thursday, July 27 at the University of Vermont campus in Burlington, Vermont. The goal of the conference is to provide a comprehensive overview with focus towards how advances in stem cell, cell therapy, and lung bioengineering research can be applied to lung biology and diseases.

The Certified Federal Surveyors Program (CFedS) Scholarship - co-administered by the Department of the Interior's Bureau of Land Management and the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) and it provides unique and extensive training for PLS in understanding federal survey processes. CFedS is designed to: increase the pool of qualified surveyors to perform work on or near federal interest lands, including Indian lands; to ensure such surveys comply with federal regulations and policies, decreasing the chance and expense of rework; and provide opportunities to increase self-determination for Indian tribes.

As an intern at the SJ (Sheldon Jackson) hatchery, you will be an valuable addition to our SSSC team. During work hours here you will be helping out with basic fish culture tasks, learning about southeast Alaska’s fisheries and helping to educate visitors and peers that visit us at the Science Center.  Your time in Sitka will be split between SJ hatchery and NSRAA (Northern Southeast Regional Aquaculture Association) a local private non-profit organization that is owned by commercial fishermen (nsraa.org) and while there, you will gain hands on experience doing a variety of tasks involved with salmon aquaculture which may include chinook cost recovery, Freshwater fish culture and maintenance related tasks.

The Dissertation Institute
The Dissertation Institute will take place June 11th – 16th on the University of Maryland, Baltimore County campus and focus on skills and strategies needed to successfully complete the dissertation process and provide networking opportunities to build connections for future collaborative career advancement.
