AISES Awarded $250,000 Grant from The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation

The grant will support Indigenous students in the world of STEM studies and careers

Albuquerque, NM, June 8, 2023 - AISES is thrilled to announce that we have been awarded a continuing grant from the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation for their Full Circle Student Support Services program. The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation grant will provide funding over two years for $250,000 annually for a total of $500,000.

AISES has been committed to increasing the representation of Indigenous peoples of North America and the Pacific Islands in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) studies and careers for over 45 years. And with the partnership with the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation, the Full Circle program will continue to provide Indigenous students with campus-based social, cultural, and academic supports, as well as Full-Circle mentorship program.

The success of the initial partnership between AISES and the Cooke Foundation has been transformative for Indigenous students in the world of STEM studies and careers. In continuing this initiative, AISES proposes to build upon existing efforts in student success to create more in-depth programming to include campus based AISES Chapters, academic support, and full circle mentorship. By leveraging current relationships with Indigenous students and professionals with the mission, experience, and strengths of AISES, it is our goal for the Cooke Foundation grant to further increase the completion rates of Indigenous students with STEM degrees.
