AISES Partners with FIRST® Robotics

Bringing Robotics Curriculum to Native-Serving Schools

Students pictured from Jemez Valley Schools, a FIRST® partner school

In partnership with For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST®), AISES is facilitating the introduction of FIRST® Tech Challenge Class Packs into Native-serving schools. AISES will support community and family engagement while ensuring successful adoption of FIRST programs both inside and outside of the classroom.

The goals of this project are to:

  • Remove barriers to participation in STEM education
  • Build awareness and increase retention for 6-12 students in STEM through engaging curriculum and teacher professional development
  • Increase access and success in STEM higher education through financial and community support

Partnering schools will receive all equipment, training, and additional support resources provided by AISES to successfully incorporate the FIRST robotics curriculum into their classrooms. Additionally, AISES will bring students and staff to the AISES National Conference to engage with STEM professionals in the industry, further exposing students to pathways in STEM.

We are excited to kickoff this program with our 2023-2024 FIRST partner schools, Jemez Valley Schools in Jemez Pueblo, New Mexico and Cherokee Central Schools in Cherokee, North Carolina.

For more information about this program and getting your school involved for the 2024-2025 school year, contact Stacy Ledford at .
