Pamala Silas
AISES Chief Executive Officer
An enrolled member of the Menominee Tribe of Wisconsin, and descendent of the Oneida Tribe of Wisconsin, Pam is a graduate of DePaul University in Chicago with a Bachelor of Science in Economics. Prior to working for AISES, Pam was Executive Director for Metropolitan Tenants Organization in Chicago, organizing tenants and community groups to improve housing conditions in Chicago's most impoverished neighborhoods. She has also served as the Director for American Indian Economic Development Association where she designed and managed programs that addressed small business, community arts, housing, policy and education. Before entering the non profit sector she spent 8 years in the corporate sector, working as Regional Administrative Specialist for a computer company headquartered in Cupertino, California. Over the past 18 years, Pam has been appointed to numerous public and tribal committees and taskforces, including; Chicago's Council on Women, Community Development Advisory Council, Chicago's Low Income Housing Trust Fund Board, United Way's Needs Assessment Committee, the Menominee Community Center of Chicago, the Menominee Indian Tribal Gaming Commission, and currently services on the board of ASCENT, and the board of Native Ways Federation. |
