Megan Kiedrowski
Former College Chapter Co-Chair
I am currently pursuing my PhD in Microbiology at the University of Iowa. My research focuses on the bacterium Staphylococcus aureus and its ability to form biofilms. Biofilms are surface-attached communities of cells that can form on medical implants, bone and in medical devices and often lead to chronic infection. My laboratory is interested in ways to disperse biofilms. Before starting graduate school, I attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison as an undergraduate and earned a BS in Medical Microbiology and Immunology. I was very involved in our college chapter of AISES. Outside of school, I enjoy jewelry making and other crafts, cooking, reading, and playing ultimate frisbee. |
