Organizational Structure

AISES is organized to operate according to the AISES Bylaws. AISES is a charitable non-profit organization with members who pay yearly dues or one-time Sequoyah donations. Per the AISES Bylaws, the Board of Directors is elected by AISES' general members. The Board represents the AISES membership, including student members, via the non-voting National Student Representatives, who attend all Board meetings. It is the responsibility of the Board to ensure the Society stays focused on the mission and to guide the headquarters' operations. The Executive Director is employed by the Board and is directed to lead the day-to-day business of the Society.

The Board of Directors is comprised of American Indian professionals in science and engineering fields, currently chaired by Andrew Conseen Duff, Eastern Cherokee.

Advisory councils take active roles in the organization. They include:

AISES maintains a number of listservs in order to effectively communicate with its advisory councils and constituent groups. AISES has a listserv proper use policy for individuals that subscribe to these lists. Download the Listserv Proper Use Policy here (pdf format).
